Biography
Dr. med. Obayda Azizy is an interventional cardiologist and academic who leads the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Department at Bochum University Hospital in Germany.
He is also a scientific reviewer for the European Heart Journal and serves as a mentor and official speaker in interventional cardiology for both the European Society of Cardiology and the German Cardiac Society. In addition, he is a member of the Syrian Board of Medical Specialties, representing expatriate cardiologists.
Dr. Azizy has been active in humanitarian and relief work for many years, participating in several medical and humanitarian campaigns to support patients and people in need. After the liberation, he took part in the "Shifa" campaign as a member of its management team. The initiative aimed to provide medical and humanitarian support while strengthening cooperation between Syrian doctors inside and outside the country.
He has also participated in several initiatives focused on exchanging medical expertise between Germany and Syria, including initiatives related to the treatment of acute myocardial infarction according to international guidelines supported by the European Society of Cardiology.
Dr. Azizy holds multiple medical specialties, including cardiology, internal medicine, interventional cardiology, emergency medicine, and intensive care medicine. He has also contributed to research and publications in the field of interventional cardiology.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany with an excellent grade.
